David Piotrowski
Managing Director

David Piotrowski is the Managing Director and founder of Waterford Capital’s Structured Finance Group and is also an Investment Adviser Representative with Waterford Capital Investment Advisory Services, LLC.

Mr. Piotrowski has 27 years experience with expertise in structuring asset-backed securitizations for specialty finance companies and asset managers, having worked on both the issuer and investment banking side of transactions totaling over $6.5 billion. Mr. Piotrowski possesses a hands-on approach to the business and is adept in all aspects of transactions, including client marketing, due diligence, collateral and bond analytics, rating agency and investor presentations, and negotiating terms and legal documents.

While at Waterford, Mr. Piotrowski successfully structured and placed the first-ever credit facility and first-ever securitization of peer-to-peer consumer loans and has successfully arranged over $2.3 billion in asset-backed financing transactions for finance companies and asset managers across the specialty finance industry.

Prior to joining Waterford Capital in 2010, Mr. Piotrowski founded and managed Double Eagle Advisors, LLC where he provided financial advisory, restructuring, and consulting services to specialty finance companies. Prior to starting Double Eagle Advisors in 2008, Mr. Piotrowski was a Managing Director for BMO Capital Markets for four years and managed their Term Securitization business and Dallas office for the last two years. Prior to this role, Mr. Piotrowski spent four years in RBC Dain Rauschers Asset Securitization Group, 2 years at Banc One Capital in both the Asset-Backed Finance Group and the Merchant Banking Group focused on sub debt and equity investments, two years working on the issuer side for Jayhawk Acceptance, a sub-prime auto finance company, and two years at NationsBank in their corporate finance group.

Mr. Piotrowski earned a BBA degree with a major in Finance from Texas Christian University in 1994 and currently holds Series 7, 24, 63, 66, and 79 FINRA Licenses.
